A GAME OF BACKGAMMON | GUCCI x DAZED MENA
A Beirut story set between moves, glances, and inherited vanity
Commissioned by Dazed MENA as an editorial piece for Gucci, A Game of Backgammon is a stylized portrait of Beirut—sun-drenched, satirical, and unapologetically vain. Directed by Jad Rahmé, the film unfolds at the iconic Sporting Beach Club, where two men face off in silence over a game of backgammon that feels more like a power play than a pastime.
There’s no need for words—just cigarette smoke, knowing glances, and a slow burn of tension. In Beirut, vanity isn’t just accepted—it’s inherited. And here, it’s tailored in Gucci.
Shot with a wink and a sharp eye, the film captures the city’s eccentric charm through bold styling, natural light, and an almost theatrical stillness. A Game of Backgammon isn’t about winning or losing—it’s about who looks better while pretending not to care.
